About me

I am a UX Researcher with a PhD and experience across academia, geospatial, AI, and civic tech.

Led the research behind Maryland's integrated benefits application, which cut application time from 80 to 28 minutes. Currently manage 3 researchers and prototypes directly when research is blocked. I spearheaded and lead the UX AI workgroup at Code for America.

Background

Research that starts with the people affected

My training is in academic research, where I learned to ask careful questions and test them against real evidence. Geospatial work taught me to read how place shapes access to services, and AI projects taught me where automated systems need human judgment built in.

In civic tech, I bring that rigor into public programs, working with teams to understand what applicants experience and where a process can be simplified. When research gets stuck, I am comfortable making a prototype so the team can keep learning.
